The Iranian Army organized a meeting on “Quantum Computing” at the Imam Khomeini Naval University in Noshahr, located in the north of Mazandaran. During the meeting, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, the Deputy Coordinator of the Islamic Republic Army and former Navy Commander, made several statements regarding technological advancements.
After concluding his remarks, Sayyari introduced the electronic device embedded with the quantum processor. He emphasized the significance of quantum and plasma technologies in warfare, highlighting their importance in dealing with future threats.
According to FarsNews, discussions regarding this matter started on social media shortly after. Users discovered that the electronic device presented by Iran as a quantum processor was actually a ZedBoard Zynq-7000 model development board produced by an American hardware company, available for sale online at a price of $600.
Upon examining the specifications of the development board, it was evident that it lacked any circuitry or processor related to quantum technology. Additionally, an e-commerce platform selling the product even stated in its product description that Iran had deceived people in this regard.
